Our Vision

Supporting Black folks, our businesses and all of our things.

ABOUT:

ForTheCultureSTL launched April 1, 2018 as a website dedicated to uplifting Black folks, Black businesses, Black events and all of our things. We wanted to combat a narrative that Black St. Louis wasn’t flourishing and was something different than, St. Louis. It is a solution for the common problems like: I don't know where to go, I didn't know that they were black owned, I don't know where to start. Well, no more.

EVENTS:

Since its launch in 2018, ForTheCultureSTL has grown into hosting events like, The Culture Kickback. A festival that celebrates the culture and essence of Black St. Louis with vendors, live djs, free food, family activities, mental health panel, art and live entertainment. This festival is like a Black family reunion — the moment you arrive, it feels familiar, safe, and joyous.

We host a range of events that focus on mental/physical, equity for Black businesses, and community engagement. Join us at one of our therapy panels, movie theater buyouts, Black owned pop ups and more.

PROMOTION:

ForTheCultureSTL has also extended its outreach to Black businesses by offering free social media promotion. We believe that Black businesses already face many barriers and disparities when it comes to running a successful business in St. Louis. In order to give our business leverage, ForTheCultureSTL is committed to as many free or low cost options, as possible.

Mission

ForTheCultureSTL has a mission of uplifting Black folks, Black businesses, Black events and all of our things. We are dedicated to helping fill the gaps of services, care, support our communities face. We believe Black folks, across intersections are worthy of love, equity, opportunities and resources — we will work to do our part in making that happen.
