The St. Louis Workers' Education Society (WES) is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Gerald Horne WES Awards, Friday September 21st.

This year's keynote will be Stewart Acuff, retired director of organizing with the AFL-CIO and life-long union activist.

The Awardee will be civil rights legend, Percy Green. It was 54 years ago that Green chained himself to the Arch to protest the exclusion of Black construction workers, an issue just a relevant to today.

St. Louis native, prolific author and WES member, Gerald Horne, will make a short video presentation, as well. Copies of Horne's books will be available for purchase.

WES is committed to building diversity in the trades, especially with our local union partners - SMART 36, Laborers 110, Painters DC 58, Operating Engineers' 148 and the Greater St. Louis Central Labor Council, among others.

Program booklet ads are: $500 (full page), $300 (half page) and $150 (quarter page). Tickets are $25. Bundles of 10 tickets are $200.

Make checks payable to: WES, 2929 S. Jefferson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63118.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The program will start at 7 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you Friday, September 21st.

In solidarity.
